In our study this week, Paul is concerned that the saints at Corinth are falling right into Satan's hands by refusing to forgive the repentant individual who was a cause of great pain and harm to them. That concern of Paul is a valid concern for us today. Oftentimes Satan is able to accomplish his evil genius in the life of a believer or a congregation when we fail to recognize the ways that he works to steal, kill, and destroy the people of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ.

What an exciting scene we have before us today for our Lord’s Day, Lord’s Supper bible study!

Today we read the beginning of Paul's defense against those who questioned his character and ministry. Due to changes in his travel plans, there were individuals (whom Paul later called, “false brethren” – 2 Corinthians 11:26) who began to poison the minds of the church at Corinth with lies and thoughts of suspicion about his apostolic genuineness and love and care for them.

Their love for The Lord Jesus Christ was no longer the blazing center behind all that they did. Jesus tells them that if they did not remember where they had fallen from, repent of their sin and return to that place of doing all that they did because they loved Him, He would remove His presence. Beloved, The Lord of Glory knows what we do and why we do it. May we hear what The Spirit saith unto the churches.
