One of the most loved hymns of the church is the old rugged cross. The chorus says, "So I'll cherish the old rugged cross, til my trophies at last I lay down. I will cling to the old rugged cross, and exchange it someday for a crown." Oh how true! The cross meant everything to Paul. It was not only the place where Jesus bore his sin debt. It was the place where he died with Jesus to religion, self, and the false glamour of this fallen world system.

We are all under constant temptation and can never live a holy life without the grace and power of the Holy Spirit. We're living in a world system that is utterly contrary to the things of God, under constant pressure to love the world (1Jn 2:15-17), to compromise with the world (James 4:4) and to conform to the world (Ro 12:2). We don't have the resources to fight such a formidable foe; we need the power and presence of the Holy Spirit. Join us Koinonia Fellowship as Pastor Ben continues our study of Galatians.

The liberty that we now have in Jesus is a liberty to love one another with a love that is kind, gracious, forgiving and sacrificial. It is a love that is not natural. It is a love that follows the death of self. In one sense, the call of the gospel is the call to come and die that you might live. As sheep in the fold of God, we are taught to love one another. Care for one another. Pray for one another. Simply put, this liberty that we have in Christ is a liberty to love freely, cheerfully, and all for the glory of God.

Follow along with the Koinonia family as we continue in the study of the Book of Galatians. Because of Christ, we now relate to God our Father on a whole new basis. That’s through our faith in the risen, exalted Lord Jesus Christ. My righteousness is not of works, not of my obedience or keeping the law. My righteousness is imputed to me by my faith in Jesus Christ.

The gospel is the way we enter the kingdom of God. But now Paul shows that the gospel is much more than that. We are not only saved by the gospel, but we also now grow by the gospel.

The proof of God's love for us beloved is the sacrifice of Jesus on Calvary whereby He willingly paid the just penalty for our sins, and in so doing, delivers us from the power of darkness and translates us into the kingdom of God.

Jesus plus nothing equals everything. Jesus plus anything else is slavery, and it will kill you. The Gospel is perfect infusion of Law and Grace.
