When we consider the finished work of Christ on the cross, it leaves us speechless. We the sinful, we the condemned, we the prideful, and we the lost can be, through Jesus Christ ransomed, redeemed, righteous and made justified. The cross of Christ destroys the curse we are under because of sin, and it frees us from religion, works, and worry. Jesus paid it all!

Why does Jesus give gifts to the His Church? Is it for our own personal enjoyment? Paul say NO! The gifts Jesus gives are for God's glory, for the building up of the Church, to unite us, to mature us, and to be rooted in love. Be encouraged by this truth as we dig deep into the word of God.

This morning we will commemorate and celebrate two ordinances Jesus gave to the Church. Firstly, Communion, where we as Christians remember the sacrifice Jesus paid for our sins, and secondly, Christians who have never been in the waters of Baptism,will make a public declaration of their inner regeneration before their Church family. In each of these ordinances we see the grace of God on display in the lives of His saved sons and daughters. as glorious as this is, the bigger question is "Have you been born again?"

The Apostle Paul had a great love for the Church at Ephesus; and this love was manifested in his prayers for them. That they would be filled with the fullness of God, and thatGod would be supremely glorified in and through them. Are our lives being filled or being fooled? Are we rooted in love or rotting in routine? This prayer is one every Christian can pray for themselves and for others.
