The liberty that we now have in Jesus is a liberty to love one another with a love that is kind, gracious, forgiving and sacrificial. It is a love that is not natural. It is a love that follows the death of self. In one sense, the call of the gospel is the call to come and die that you might live. As sheep in the fold of God, we are taught to love one another. Care for one another. Pray for one another. Simply put, this liberty that we have in Christ is a liberty to love freely, cheerfully, and all for the glory of God.

The gospel of Jesus Christ is nothing short of glorious! The very word gospel means “good news.” In one sense, it is news that is too good to be true. It is the message of The Son of God, Jesus Christ becoming The Lamb of God to take away the sin of the world. But this glorious message is a message that is very exclusive in the sense that the gospel of Jesus Christ is the only message whereby sinners are brought into a right relationship with God. The statement of Jesus, “I Am The Way, The Truth and The Life, no man comes unto The Father but by Me” (John 14:6), does not set right in our politically correct society, for it contradicts the mantra that all religions lead to God. Nonetheless, “God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)

We are all under constant temptation and can never live a holy life without the grace and power of the Holy Spirit. We're living in a world system that is utterly contrary to the things of God, under constant pressure to love the world (1Jn 2:15-17), to compromise with the world (James 4:4) and to conform to the world (Ro 12:2). We don't have the resources to fight such a formidable foe; we need the power and presence of the Holy Spirit. Join us Koinonia Fellowship as Pastor Ben continues our study of Galatians.

When the ideal is hard to attain, it's tempting to just lower the bar and redefine the ideal. This can be especially true when it comes to Jesus' teachings about family and children, which many of us have already fallen short of. This message will explain why aiming for God's ideal is still worth it; even when our reality makes reaching it impossible. Buried beneath the hurt, disappointment, distance, or silence is a desire to be connected to our children.

One of the most loved hymns of the church is the old rugged cross. The chorus says, "So I'll cherish the old rugged cross, til my trophies at last I lay down. I will cling to the old rugged cross, and exchange it someday for a crown." Oh how true! The cross meant everything to Paul. It was not only the place where Jesus bore his sin debt. It was the place where he died with Jesus to religion, self, and the false glamour of this fallen world system.
